3. Installing the PxM Client

This chapter provides instructions for installing the PxM Client for Mac.

3.1. Installing the PxM Client for Mac

To install and configure the PxM Client for Mac:

  1. Open a web browser and type the HTTPS virtual appliance IP address copied earlier from the Console window of the virtual appliance virtual machine:


  2. The PxM Client Download page opens.

    If web login is enabled, you can access the PxM Web Management Interface directly from the PxM Client Download page. For more information, see System settings tab in the PxM Administrators Guide.

  3. Click PxM Desktop Client for macOS.


    The dsa is used to verify the integrity of the client file.

    The Host Key Fingerprint is used as protection against man-in-the-middle attacks.

  4. Double-click the PxM Client installer file.

  5. Within the application window, drag the PxM Client icon to the right Applications folder, a progress bar will pop up to indicate the PxM Client is being installed. When the progress bar disappears, the PxM Client has finished installing. The application will now be in the application folder.

  6. Launch the PxM Client from the application folder. You will be presented with a permissions prompt, which is shown the first time the PxM Client is launched. The PxM Client requires specific permissions to allow the device connections sessions to be recorded through PxM.

  7. Click the Open Systems Preferences button.


    If you click Deny then you won’t be able to connect to devices that require the session to be recorded by PxM.

  8. Within the Security and Privacy window, check the Osirium Session Recording Agent.

  9. Exit the Security & Privacy window. You are now ready to logon, see Logging on.
