Information for EPM Users

EPM is a privileged endpoint management solution that allows users to run programs or processes as an administrator without needing a local administrator account. EPM operates with two core features to allow you to stay productive without a local administrator account, elevations of particular programs allowed by company policy are Policy based Elevations and in cases where a required elevation of rights is not explicitly covered by company policy, EPM has a request-response system to grant Temporary Admin Rights for a period of time.

Policy based Elevations

Programs and processes you need to run with administrator rights on a day-to-day basis will be covered by policies created by your IT team. In order to run a program as an administrator with EPM, you’ll see a new option in your right-click context menu.

Run as with EPM

To elevate a program with EPM, simply choose Run as administrator using EPM.

If a you are allowed to proceed, you'll see a UAC prompt asking for administrator credentials. Instead of fetching a set of administrator credentials, you should enter your own credentials. You'll then proceed running the process as administrator.
