PxM Client Guide
This guide introduces you to the PxM Client, provides installation instructions and walks you through the interface features.

The PxM Client is a client-side installed application and the user interface component of the PxM Platform which enables access to device tools and device tasks.
Once the PxM Client has been installed you can login using the credentials provided by your PxM superadmin. If the authentication has been successful you will be presented with the PxM Client interface window which will be dynamically updated, listing the device tools with defined privilege levels granted to you. As well as a list of device tasks that can be executed on a device.
Device lists presented to you upon authentication may differ per user as access is granularly managed and tailored to your individual job role within the organisation. This allows for a least privileged model to be applied when granting access permissions and privileges. By applying a least privileged model ensures you only have the permissions necessary to carry out your role and helps reduce errors being made through over privileged access.
From the PxM Client interface, you are able to:
Single sign-on to device tools (RDP, SSH, Telnet, Browser etc) : This means that when you click on a device tool through the PxM Client interface, the PxM Platform will manage the logon process and provide the device with the correct logon credentials, allowing you to seamlessly logon to the device. You will no longer have to remember multiple credentials to multiple devices or have to type in credentials for each device accessed.
Run tasks on a device(s) : Device tasks can be executed on a single or multiple devices of the same type without knowing the device specific commands. When you execute a task from the PxM Client, the PxM Platform provides and inputs the correct command(s) to execute the task on the device(s).
Access to the Web Management Interface : The Web Management Interface is launched through the PxM Virtual Appliance as a web based interface. Depending on the PxM Platform role assigned to you the operations available on the Web Management Interface will vary. All users will be assigned a minimum user level access privileges. This will allow you to view your assigned devices, accounts, tasks, download device files (techouts, backups etc) generated and give you the ability to change your password if locally authenticated.
To allow communication between the PxM Client and the PxM Virtual Appliance, ensure TCP ports 443 and 9002 are open.
